New Ideas. Fresh Thinking. Taranaki Boards Want You!

After a successful pilot cohort 1 we are relaunching our governance training program – Get on Board! TYP are proud to be teaming up with The Bishops Action Foundation and The Wheelhouse where together we have created a governance training program aimed at giving young people an opportunity to join a local Not for Profit board. We want to help you take the first step in beginning your board governance journey. The program will help you learn skills about how board governance works and enable you to gain experience and confidence to join more boards in the future. This program will include the following:

  • Attendance at 6 consecutive board meetings (within a 6-12 month period) with your allocated board. Please note your role on the board will be in a training capacity and you will not have voting rights. However, you will be asked to contribute any ideas you have on discussions held

  • Each trainee will have a mentor from their allocated board throughout the program, whom they can ask questions and will answer too

  • 3 free training's will be provided by The Wheelhouse on Governance, Planning and Financial Management

  • You will gain real life experience working on a board following board protocols

  • You will have an opportunity to help a local community board by providing new ideas and a different perspective

Please come along to our launch party for our second cohort to hear the success stories from our first cohort, what the program entails and ask any questions you may have.

If this sounds like an opportunity you want to embrace please email TYP at info@typ.co.nz for more information and the application forms.
